PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an I/O module, setting device, and method for constructing a process control system that are capable of reducing the time required for constructing the process control system in comparison with the prior art.SOLUTION: A method for constructing a process control system of the present invention includes the following steps: installing the I/O module (that includes a plurality of I/O ports to which a field device is connected and a setting device connection interface to which an external setting device is connected, and can set an I/O tag for logically identifying each of the I/O ports) and the field device in a site and performing wiring (step S32); and performing the setting of the I/O module and field device by using the setting device connected to the I/O module in a state where a controller is not connected to the I/O module (steps S33 and S35).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
