A light guide plate (10) and a backlight module having the light guide plate (10). The light guide plate (10) comprises an incident surface (11), an emergent surface (12) and a bottom surface (13) opposite to the emergent surface (12). The emergent surface (12) is connected to the incident surface (11) and the bottom surface (13) is connected to the incident surface (11). The emergent surface (12) comprises a plurality of V-shaped trenches (14) formed in a first direction (x) and a plurality of V-shaped trenches (14) formed in a second direction (y), and an included angle between the first direction (x) and the second direction (y) is larger than zero degree and smaller than or equal to 90 degrees. After light is incident from the incident surface (11) upon a plurality of mesh points on the bottom surface (13), the mesh points change the heading direction of the incident light rays, so that the light rays go ahead towards the emergent surface (12); the emergent surface (12) is provided with the V-shaped trenches (14) that are formed in two intersection directions respectively, and the emergent surface (12) can achieve four-side light condensation after the light rays are refracted by the emergent surface (12) and converged, so that light utilization rate of incident light can be increased maximally. |
