Provided are a base station device, a terminal device, and a method that make it possible to communicate efficiently in a communication system in which a base station device and a terminal device communicate. The base station device communicates with the terminal device and is provided with: a sequence generation unit that determines an initial value to be used in the sequence of a downlink reference signal in a cell for a first carrier frequency on the basis of a slot number, and uses the initial value to generate the sequence; and a transmission unit that transmits the downlink reference signal. When transmitting the downlink reference signal in a cell for a second carrier frequency via a subframe used for DS transmission, the sequence generation unit uses the value that is obtained by the slot number and that is used for the initial value of the sequence of the downlink reference signal as a predetermined value in order to calculate the initial value.
