PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of improving an effect of preventing paint removal due to a defect of a zinc layer on a steel plate particularly the defect at a cut edge section.SOLUTION: A method for a metal coating pretreatment is to provide a joined metallic structural component, which has a steel surface plated with zinc or a zinc alloy or at least partially a zinc surface, with the metal coating pretreatment which is a surface treatment including a plurality of treatment processes and thereby forming a metal coating layer of particularly molybdenum, tungsten, cobalt, nickel, lead, tin and/or preferably iron with a coating weight of not more than 100 mg/m2 on the zinc surface. The method for the metal coating pretreatment is also applicable to: a metallic structural member which is subjected to the metal coating pretreatment with no succeeding coating treatment or a succeeding coating treatment planned to be implemented; and a structural member to be used for coachbuilding in automobile manufacturing processes, shipbuilding, construction and manufacturing of white goods.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
