The invention relates to an angle piece head, used to drive an instrument for operating on dental roots and consisting of a body that comprises a generally cylindrical cavity into which an instrument-holding core, shaped such as to receive and hold the instrument, moves axially and pivotally. The instrument-holding core (3) comprises, on one side, a groove (31) having an offset engaging therewith. The offset is capable of engaging with one or the other of the two edges (32, 33) of the groove (31) such that the rotation thereof transmits an alternating axial movement to the instrument while enabling same to rotate about the axis (X) of the instrument. The groove (31) includes two portions (34, 35) that extend on either side of a median area (36). For each portion, the height, namely the distance that separates the two edges (32, 33), increases from the median area (36) to each end of the groove (31). |
