PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a bleed valve.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner (1) comprises a dirty air intake (2) and a cyclonic separating apparatus (3) connected in series. The cyclonic separating apparatus (3) comprises a plurality of cyclonic separators (7) connected in parallel. The vacuum cleaner (1) further comprises a bleed valve (6) provided upstream of the plurality of cyclonic separators (7). The bleed valve (6) opens to admit bled air into the plurality of cyclonic separators (7) in response to a drop in pressure in the vacuum cleaner (1). The bleed valve (6) is also connected to inlets of the plurality of cyclonic separators (7) via a common plenum (8).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
