An excitation unit according to one embodiment of the present invention applies vibrations to a target material that has been supplied inside of a target flow path. The excitation unit may be provided with the following: a vibration transmission member that makes contact with a first member which includes therein the target flow path; and a piezoelectric member that makes contact with the vibration transmission member and that vibrates in response to an electric signal from the outside. The vibration damping rate of the vibration transmission member may be smaller than the vibration damping rate of the first member.
