PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid discharge device eliminating clogging of a nozzle and making a fluid passage in a head into a proper state.SOLUTION: A fluid discharge device includes: a head 31 which has a nozzle 33 for discharging fluid and a flow passage 72 in which fluid to be delivered to the nozzle flows; a storage section 71 for storing fluid to be supplied to the head; a pressurization section 73 for pressurizing fluid; a discharge passage 86 which is connected to the flow passage and through which fluid discharged from the head without passing through the nozzle flows; a valve 87 provided in the discharge passage; a reservoir section 88 which is connected to the discharge passage on a downstream side of the valve so as to reserve fluid discharged from the head; and a circulation passage which is connected to the discharge passage and is connected to the storage section on a downstream side of the valve. The fluid discharge device includes: a discharge mode in which fluid is pressurized in a state of closing the valve so as to discharge fluid from the nozzle; a discharge mode in which the discharge passage is opened by the value so as to lead fluid pressurized and discharged from the head to the reservoir section; and a circulation mode in which the discharge passage is opened by the valve and fluid pressurized and discharged from the head is led to the storage section via the circulation passage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
