PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a sheet storage device reducing influence by extrusion of sheets when exposing the sheets stored in a plurality of storage sections from a common opening section.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a device body; an image formation section; a plurality of storage sections; an opening section; and sheet moving means. When a first sheet stored in the first storage section is brought into contact with a second sheet stored in the second storage section and the sheets are exposed from the opening section and when a distance for moving the first sheet is different from a distance for moving the second sheet until the sheets are exposed, the sheet moving means controls a timing for starting the movement of the first sheet and the second sheet or a speed for moving the first sheet and the second sheet on the basis of the distance for moving the first sheet and the distance for moving the second sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
