PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing method for an existing tower-like object that may be implemented in a short period, may reinforce the tower-like object without using welding means, and may safely reduce temporary facility and safety measures costs, along with a reinforcing segment for a tower-like object used in the method.SOLUTION: A reinforcement method for an existing tower-like object is for reinforcing a deteriorated portion (deteriorated part A) of an existing tower-like object (steel chimney 5), and includes the following steps: a segment installation step S5 in which a plurality of segments 1 is installed side by side in a vertical direction on an entire circumference over a deteriorated portion (deteriorated part A), the segment having a length longer than the deteriorated portion (deteriorated part A) by a predetermined distance; and a tensile force introduction step S8 in which tensile force is exerted on a wire material (PC steel wire 7) inserted through the plurality of segments 1, so as to have the segment 1 tighten the tower-like object (steel chimney 5) by pressing from outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
