To provide an absorbent article being an improvement on conventional absorbent articles, being capable of adapting to the movement of undergarments during walking, and whereby a feeling of wearing something foreign can be suppressed. An absorbent article (10) wherein a fluid-absorbing layer (13) has first and second end areas (41, 42) that are mutually facing in the vertical direction (Y) and at least the first end area (41) out of the first and second end areas (41, 42) has: first and second side sections (45, 46) facing across a vertical center line (P); and at least one slit-shaped first separation section (51) that penetrates the fluid-absorbing layer (13) arranged in at least either the first or second side section (45, 46). The first separation section (51) has an inner end (51a) and an outer end (51b) that are positioned on the vertical center line (P) side. A virtual line (K) that passes through the inner and outer ends (51a, 51b) extends diagonally relative to the vertical center line (P). An intersecting angle (α) facing a horizontal center line (Q), out of intersecting angles (α) between the virtual line (K) and the vertical center line (P), is an acute angle. |
