PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface modification method for a vulcanized rubber or a thermoplastic elastomer, which has a chemically fixed lubrication surface, instead of a resin coating having problems such as deterioration in lubricity due to peeling or turning up or the like during movement in a tube.SOLUTION: There is provided a surface modification method for modifying a vulcanized rubber or a thermoplastic elastomer as an object to be modified, which comprises: a step 1 of forming a polymerization initiation point on the surface of the object to be modified; and a step 2 of making the object to be modified irradiate with 300 to 400 nm UV light from the polymerization initiation point to radically polymerize a deliquescent monomer and grow polymer chains on the surface of the object to be modified.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
