PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid positioning system using wireless signals by an apparatus and method for determining a position of a mobile station on the basis of terrestrial assistance data from a first wireless network to which the mobile station is not attached.SOLUTION: The mobile station is able to receive terrestrial assistance data from a first wireless network and use the terrestrial assistance data to obtain location information, such as timing measurements, from the first wireless network and determine the position of the mobile station while not attached to the first wireless network.
