PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which reduces abdominal obesity, increases glucose resistance, and reduces or can be used for the prevention or treatment for obesity-related disease, e.g., but not limited to type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease.SOLUTION: The invention provides a composition containing an oil composition for use as the preventive or therapeutic agent of abdominal obesity and type 2 diabetes, the oil composition containing 20-100 wt.%, preferably 40-85 wt.% of wax ester preferably obtained from Copepoda, wherein the wax ester consists of monoester of monovalent or polyvalent unsaturated C16-22 fatty acid and monovalent unsaturated C16-22 fatty alcohol, the fatty acid contains 5-20 wt.% of stearidonic acid; and the composition further containing astaxanthin. The composition contains 3-20 wt.% of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and 2-15 wt.% of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
