PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drug delivery device that can independently control injection of a needle.SOLUTION: A drug delivery device 10 includes: a tubular reservoir 14 for accommodating a medicament; a stopper 44 slidably disposed in the reservoir; a spring for moving the stopper from a first position to a second position in the reservoir; a needle driver 18 for displacing a needle from a first state to a second state; and, an actuator 20. Activation of the actuator causes the spring to move the stopper from the first position towards the second position, and the needle driver to displace the needle from the first state and towards the second state. The needle moves relatively to, and separately from, the reservoir with the needle being displaced from the first state and towards the second state. A drug delivery device is provided in which a needle is moved relatively to the reservoir, and displaced for injection. This permits control of the needle displacement separate from the reservoir.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
