PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for more appropriately viewing or recording a program of digital broadcasting.SOLUTION: A program display device includes: a broadcast wave reception part; a program selection part; a program display part; a program information acquisition part for acquiring program information of a selected program; a view information storage part for storing the acquired program information as view history data; a routine view program discrimination part for discriminating whether the selected program is a routine view program of a user by referring to the view history data; a program guide acquisition part for acquiring a broadcast program guide; a program broadcast schedule confirmation part by which, if the selected program is the routine view program, the program information and the program guide are referenced to confirm the presence/absence of the next broadcast schedule of the selected program; an automatic recording reservation part by which, if there is the next broadcast schedule, automatic recording of the program is reserved; an operational state confirmation part for confirming an operational state of the program display device at a predetermined time preceding to a broadcast start time of the automatic recording reserved program; and an automatic recording part for recording the automatic recording reserved program if a selected digital broadcast program is not being displayed as a result of the confirmation processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
