The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display apparatus, which automatically switches to a next-rank network when a connection of a network in use is not smooth, and a control method thereof. The method to control the display apparatus comprises: a step of receiving information on a plurality of networks; a step of setting priority information on the plurality of networks; a step of measuring signal intensity with respect to the selected network when a user command to select one among the plurality of networks is inputted; and a step of switching to a next-rank network among the plurality of networks in accordance with the priority information when the measured signal intensity is less than or equal to a preset value.
