PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve estimation accuracy of a travel environment of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A travel environment estimation apparatus includes a speedometer for measuring vehicle speed, a vehicle stop time rate calculation part for using a history of speed to calculate a vehicle stop time of a vehicle during a first period, and a travel environment estimation part for using a previously set relationship between the vehicle stop time rate and a first travel environment index to calculate a first travel environment index from the vehicle stop time rate and setting the first travel environment index as an integrated travel environment index, and the travel environment estimation part makes the vehicle stop time rate calculation part calculate a vehicle stop time rate by eliminating a continuous vehicle stop time from both of a first period and a sum of vehicle stop times of the vehicle during the first period if the continuous vehicle stop time as a time during which the vehicle has continuously stopped during the first period is a first determination time or more, and calculates a first travel environment index from the calculated vehicle stop time rate including the vehicle stop time if the continuous vehicle stop time is smaller than the first determination time. |
