PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce damages to a nozzle forming face of an ink head and to reduce the number of times of paper jamming in a simple structure, in the case where a cover is opened and a printing operation is interrupted during an image forming operation of an inkjet printer, and then the cover is closed to restart the printing operation.SOLUTION: In the case where the cover is opened during a printing operation with respect to a thick paper sheet and the printing operation is interrupted, and then the cover is closed to restart the printing operation, a moving speed of a carriage during a time period in which the carriage is moved from a capping position to a carriage rising position while the carriage is left in a lowered state, is made lower than a moving speed of the carriage during the printing operation. |
