The present invention relates to blue-green alga metabolite nocuoline A isolated from the blue-green alga strain Nostoc sp. CCAP 1453/38 and/or from the blue-green alga strain Nodularia sp. CCAP 1452/7 of the general formula I, in which the molecular weight of the blue-green alga metabolite is 298.421 g/mole and elementary composition is Ci16Hi30Ni2Oi3 and a central heterocycle of the blue-green alga metabolite is 5,6-dihyro-1,2,3-oxadiazine. The invention further relates to a process for preparing the above-indicated blue-green alga metabolite as well as its use as a medicament.
