Provided are a hybrid flow battery and an electrolyte solution for the hybrid flow battery. The hybrid flow battery includes: a first half cell which includes a first electrode and a first electrolyte solution; a second half cell which includes a second electrode and a second electrolyte solution; and a separation membrane which separates the first and second half cells. The first electrolyte solution and the second electrolyte solution contain electrolyte and further contain at least one between a metal perchlorate additive and a metallic oxide porous material.
