<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition, which has excellent stability though it includes (A) a quaternary ammonium salt-based preservative, has satisfactory sense of use, and is applicable to a mucous membrane, and to provide a composition applied to a mucous membrane, which has excellent stability though it includes (A) a quaternary ammonium salt-based preservative at a low concentration of ≤0.02 wt.%, has satisfactory sense of use, and is suitably used for the cleaning of a mucous membrane. <P>SOLUTION: The composition applied to a mucous membrane includes: (A) a quaternary ammonium salt-based preservative; (B) edetic acid and/or its salt; and (C) polysorbate. In the composition, setting is performed so as to satisfy the ratios in which (C) polysorbate is set to 0.5 to 110 pts.wt. per 1 pt.wt. of (A) a quaternary ammonium salt-based preservative and (B) edetic acid and/or its salt is set to 0.001 to 1.5 pts.wt. to 1 pt.wt. of (C) polysorbate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
