The present invention relates to a system for detecting an occupant of a vehicle and an air conditioning control method for a vehicle using the same, determining whether occupants occupy each seat, the positions of the occupants and the number of occupants using a simple sensor in the vehicle. The system for detecting an occupant of a vehicle comprises: a proximity sensor, a vehicular key, a start device and a control part. The proximity sensor is installed on the back of a vehicular seat for a passenger to detect an object. The vehicular key is used to perform a lock/unlock operation. The start device performs a start on/off-operation of the vehicle. The control part determines whether an occupant occupies the seat where the proximity sensor is installed based on a sensor value of the proximity sensor, a door unlock signal transmitted from the vehicular key, and a start on-signal input from the start device. |
