PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell arranged so that a liquid fuel can be supplied to a cathode catalyst layer efficiently, which enables the increase in power generation efficiency.SOLUTION: A fuel cell 3 comprises: an electrolyte membrane 64; an anode electrode 65 supplied with a liquid fuel; a cathode electrode 66 supplied with oxygen; and an anode-side diffusion layer 67 disposed to face the anode electrode 65 and having pores 90. The pores 90 are formed so that the size thereof becomes larger from its lower side upward.
