PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, which can remove autonomously the case, in which a foreign matter is bitten by a drive part in an electric variable valve timing mechanism.SOLUTION: A control device for controlling an internal combustion engine, to which an electric variable valve timing mechanism is attached, to execute an operation to drive the variable valve timing mechanism is driven in a direction to enlarge a deviation in the case where a deviation between a target valve timing and an actual valve timing realized by the variable valve timing mechanism occurs continuously for a predetermined timing mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
