PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface device, a finger tracking method, and a program with which it is possible to reduce the range of projection display for which luminance is dropped when failed in tracking a finger and to re-recognize the finger.SOLUTION: The interface device includes: a search path control unit 48 for dividing the image in which projection display is image-captured into a plurality of blocks when tracking a finger area using a first mask image fails, and sequentially designating block positions at which a mask block is displayed in superposition in accordance with a prescribed search path; a display screen generation unit 44 for sequentially generating superposed images where the mask block is superposed at the designated position of a display image for projection display; a finger determination unit 49 for searching for the mask block area of the image in which the projection display of the superposed image is image-captured, and sequentially determining whether or not the finger area is included; and a second mask image generation unit 4A for generating a second mask image comprising the mask block for which it is determined that the finger area is included.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
