PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire correction information to be utilized for high-accuracy correction of a dot filter.SOLUTION: In a dot filter generation device 43, a plurality of temporary threshold matrices which are obtained for each dot size on the basis of recording rates of a plurality of dot sizes are stored. Continuously, a temporary meshing processing part 432 performs meshing processing of a test image using the plurality of temporary threshold matrices to generate temporary halftone image. Next, when recording a test chart on a recording medium on the basis of the temporary halftone image data in which the plurality of dot sizes are mixed, dots of only one dot size are recorded. Filter correction information corresponding to selected one dot size is acquired by a correction information acquisition part 433. Thus, regarding the one dot size, the filter correction information to be utilized for high-accuracy correction of the threshold matrix can be acquired without being influenced by varying sizes or the like of dots in the other dot sizes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
