PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process for a modified lumber in which the penetrability of agent or the like into the lumber is greatly enhanced without compromising the ornamental design feeling.SOLUTION: The production process for a modified lumber includes: a first step for forming fine concave portions on the surface of a lumber 10; a second step for striking water to the surface of lumber 10 on which fine concave portions were formed in the first step; a third step for compressing the lumber which was water struck in the second step, to a compression amount greater than the depth of the fine concave portions on the surface of the lumber, by a roll press machine; and a forth step for drying the lumber 10 compressed in the third step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
