PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum pump in such a configuration that a pressure applied onto a vane is released to prevent the breakdown.SOLUTION: A vacuum pump 1 includes a housing 2 having a pump chamber 2A, a rotor 3 arranged in the pump chamber, and a vane 4 supported by the rotor for partitioning the pump chamber into a plurality of working spaces in association with the rotation of the rotor, whereby lubricating oil is supplied into the pump chamber. The vane has both side faces defining the working spaces, and release holes opening to both side faces, respectively. Openings of the release holes are closed when a negative pressure is generated in the pump chamber and the negative pressure works thereon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
