PURPOSE: To reduce a time required for a user to perform jam processing to resolve paper jam that has occurred in a sheet conveying device.CONSTITUTION: A sheet conveying device includes: first conveying means that can hold and convey a sheet; second conveying means that is provided on the upstream side in the sheet conveyance direction with respect to the first conveying means and can hold and convey the sheet held and conveyed by the first conveying means; detection means that detects abnormality in conveyance of a sheet; and control means that, when the detection means has detected abnormality in conveyance of a sheet, controls the first conveying means and the second conveying means in a direction to form sagging on the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
