PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost joint backer that prevents blocking of a ventilation layer formed on an indoor side of an external wall surface material, along with a water cutoff structure using the joint backer.SOLUTION: A joint backer includes a backer part 31 that supports a rear surface side of a sealant 4 embedded in a horizontal joint 2 formed between exterior wall surface materials 11 that are adjacent in a vertical direction, and a lip part 32 formed on both sides of the backer part 31, to be bendable with regard to the backer part 31. The lip part 32 may be detached when torn by a hand, and elastic restitutive force is generated in the lip part 32 that remained, when the remnant lip part 32 is bent and inserted into the horizontal joint 2. The remnant lip part 32 spreads due to the elastic restitutive force, and is hooked on a corner on a rear side of the exterior wall surface material 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
