PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain water clarifier capable of absorbing and removing an edible oil content from drain water including edible vegetable oil and being discharged in a production step of oil confectionery such as fried dough cake, shrimp crackers, various kinds of doughnut, potato chips, fried rice crackers, and fried rice cookie, especially fried dough cake and various kinds of doughnut, and a drain water clarification method using the clarifier.SOLUTION: The clarifier is obtained by performing predetermined dilute sulfuric acid processing to a shell and then preparing the shell, then the clarifier is added to the vegetable oil-containing drain water in a production step of oil confectionery such as fried dough cake and various kinds of doughnut, and agitated, for clarifying the drain water.SELECTED DRAWING: None
