An electric motor is provided with a stator comprising a stator core with an aluminum wire wound thereon, a rotor rotatably attached to the stator core, and a terminal wire (17) provided to an end portion of the aluminum wire drawn from the stator core. The electric motor is further provided with a sleeve (16) through which the terminal wire (17) is inserted, and a power supply wire (14) for supplying power to the terminal wire (17), the power supply wire (14) having a core wire portion (14b) that conducts electricity and a covering portion (14a) covering the core wire portion (14b). The electric motor is further provided with a solder process portion electrically connecting the terminal wire (17) and the core wire portion (14b) by a solder process, and a thermal contraction tube comprising an adhesive layer covering and welded from an end portion of the covering portion (14a) to an end portion of the sleeve (16) through the solder process portion.
