A plug (101) of a connector (100) that performs optical transmission is provided with an optical connection unit (6). The optical connection unit (6) has a lens (9) that is provided as a part of a side surface of the optical connection unit (6), said lens performing optical connection, in the direction orthogonal to the inserting/removing direction of the plug (101), with respect to a lens (55) that is provided to an optical connection unit (53) of a receptacle (102). The optical connection unit also has an alignment surface (10) that is provided as a part of a side surface of the optical connection unit (6), said alignment surface determining, by being in contact with an alignment surface (56) of the receptacle (102), the position of the optical connection unit (6) in a state wherein the plug (101) and the receptacle (102) are fitted in with each other. |
