1. A system for non-invasively measuring a physiologic status of a myocardium of a patient, the system comprising:
a probe having a housing, wherein the housing is shaped to conform to a general shape of an indentation of an intercostal space of the patient; an optical spectroscope, at least partially disposed within the housing, the optical spectroscope comprising at least one light source capable of emitting light at a range of wavelengths, a wavelength-sensitive sensor capable of detecting light intensity, at two or more distinct wavelengths, of light scattered and/or reflected by tissue of the myocardium; and a processor communicably coupled to a memory, the memory including instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to (1) receive light intensity measurements from the optical spectroscope, and (2) determine a first magnitude of effectiveness of determining the physiologic status of the myocardium of the patient. |
