A method for structural analysis of a circuit description representing an electronic circuit being performed by means of a circuit design tool. A base node conductively coupled to a first supply node connected to a first supply terminal is selected. It is determined whether the base node is directly connected to a second supply node. The second supply node is connected to a second supply terminal. If so, a conductive path between the first supply node and the second supply node is diagnosed. Otherwise, a component of the circuit is selected. The component has a first terminal connected to the base node and a second terminal connected to a test node. An operating point of the component is compared with a conduction criterion for the first and the second terminal. Depending on the result, a conductive path between the first supply node and the test node is diagnosed. |
