COMPOSITION FOR PROTECTING DAMAGE OF IMMUNOMODULATION AND HEAMATOPOIESIS BY RADIATION USING A RED BEET EXTRACT

Disclosed in the present invention is a composition using a red beet extract, which serves to protect immunomodulation and hematopoiesis from damage induced by radiation. The composition does not show any particular toxicity to splenocytes (see Fig. 1), and in in vitro and in vivo experiments, the composition is shown to promote the proliferation of splenocytes, bone marrow cells, and blood cells when the proliferation thereof is suppressed due to radiation exposure (see Fig. 2, Fig. 4 and Fig. 5). The composition also has activities such as repairing radiation-damaged DNA.
