Provided are a method and device capable of more accurately determining tumor sites from a specimen that includes connective tissue containing a substance having autofluorescence. From the fluorescence from the specimen, image information is received for the intensity distribution of first light received through a first filter, which transmits light in a first wavelength band that includes the peak wavelength of the fluorescence emitted from porphyrins, the light intensity distribution received through a second filter, which transmits light in a second wavelength band of shorter wavelengths that those in the first wavelength band, and the light intensity distribution received through a third filter, which transmits light in a third wavelength band of longer wavelengths that those in the first wavelength band, and on the basis of said image information, image information is generated which corresponds to the intensity distribution in the first light of fluorescence emitted from porphyrins, and tumor sites and non-tumor sites are determined on the basis of said image information. |
