Provided is an exterior inspection device for performing inspections at a white balance that is always optimal. This exterior inspection device A is equipped with a camera 1, an inspection reference surface 2, and a light source 3, and is further equipped with a correction reference plate 4, an advance/retraction mechanism 5 for advancing and retracting the correction reference plate 4 between a correction position within the imaging range of the camera 1 and a retracted position retracted therefrom, and a control unit 6 that outputs a white balance adjustment command to the camera 1 when the correction reference plate 4 is at the correction position. During non-inspection times when an exterior inspection is not being performed, the control unit 6 outputs to the advance/retraction mechanism 5 a drive command to move the correction reference plate 4 to the correction position, and a white balance adjustment command and an adjustment command to adjust the quantity of the light of the light source 3. Therefore, white balance adjustments are performed automatically, without the need for human intervention. |
