Disclosed is an electric fan having a user following function. The disclosed electric fan comprises: a stand unit which comprises a base plate and a support fixture; a driving unit installed on the bottom surface of the base plate to give driving power for driving the electric fan by moving the stand unit; a head unit which comprises a casing installed on the top of the support fixture to be able to rotate and to have a blade driving member inside, a blade unit installed on the front of the casing to be rotated by the blade driving member, and a protecting net installed to wrap around the blade unit; a user detecting sensor installed on the stand unit or the head unit to detect the information on the position of the user; and a control unit for controlling the driving unit in response to a signal detected by the user detecting sensor to let the stand unit drive by following the user at a certain distance and to spray wind generated by the blade unit toward the user by keeping the distance from the user. |
