PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive mechanical current limiter capable of operating at normal temperature, and changing the current limit operation starting current value flexibly.SOLUTION: A mechanical current limiter installed on a DC transmission path includes an upper electromagnet (12) excited by a DC power supply (18), a lower electromagnet (14) around which a portion of a transmission path (11) is wound, and a movable member (16) constituted by sandwiching the body (16a) by an upper contact member (16b) and a lower contact member (16c) composed of a magnetic material. When the current value of the transmission path exceeds a predetermined threshold, the movable member is attracted to the lower electromagnet and breaks the upper contact, and thereby the current flowing through the transmission path flows through a shunt resistor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
