The purpose of the present invention is to provide a specimen holder which is used in a tumor site identification device and which makes it possible to accurately identify tumor sites. This specimen holder (1) is used in a tumor site identification device which identifies tumor sites and non-tumor sites by irradiating the specimen with excitation light emitted from a light source and spectrally detecting fluorescence emitted by porphyrins present in the tumor sites of the specimen. The specimen holder (1) is provided with a housing unit (41) which houses the specimen (2), a window (52) for transmitting excitation light emitted from outside of the specimen holder to allow said excitation light to irradiate the specimen held in the holding unit, and a specimen fixing unit (44) for preventing displacement of the specimen housed in the housing unit.
