PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desulfurizing agent capable of suppressing carbon deposition without degrading desulfurization performance.SOLUTION: A zinc-ferrite-based desulfurizing agent has zinc ferrite as the main component made from zink sulfate and iron sulfate. A sulfur compound is specially made present in the desulfurizing agent at 0.025 wt.% or more in terms of sulfur relative to the whole desulfurizing agent including a carrier, by reserving a sulfur component contained in raw materials or adding iron sulfide, and thus bonded to an iron oxide in advance. The zinc-ferrite-based desulfurizing agent thus suppresses bonding of carbon in a gas from which sulfur is removed, to suppress carbon deposition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
