摘要 This image processing device is provided with: a main memory 14 which stores image data having a peripheral region 44 that is set to a predetermined value, and a CPU 12 which performs grayscale conversion processing on the image data. The CPU 12 comprises: a plurality of cores 16 which have a parallel processing function using a plurality of threads 18 and perform grayscale conversion processing in a parallel manner; and data cache memories 22 and program cache memories 20, each data cache memory 22 and each program cache memory 20 being provided to be associated with a respective one of the plurality of threads 18. Each core 16 specifies, as a region 48 to be operated on, a region of the image data that is smaller in size than the data cache memories 22 associated with the core 16, causes these data cache memories 22 to acquire, from the main memory 14, the image data constituting the region 48 to be operated on, and performs grayscale conversion processing on the entire portion of the region 48 to be operated on, without differentiating between the portion of a central region 42 and the portion of the peripheral region 44 that constitute the region 48 to be operated on.
