Disclosed are a description information display method and device, and electronic equipment. The method includes: hiding description information of an application icon on a terminal screen interface (102); judging whether a user has a checking requirement for the description information according to detected user operation behaviour (104); and if so, displaying the corresponding description information in an associated region of the application icon (106). By means of this technical solution, on the one hand, the cleanness of a display effect on a terminal screen interface can be ensured, and on the other hand, the checking requirement of the user for the description information of the application icon can be quite conveniently met.
