The invention relates to a water jet cutting device for cutting a strip off from a moving paper, cardboard, tissue or other fibrous web (1) in a machine for producing and/or finishing said web, comprising: a cutting table (2) for supporting the fibrous web (1); at least one nozzle (3) the water jet (4) of which is directed onto the fibrous web (1); and a water-jet collecting device (5), which has a collection opening (6) in the cutting table (2) for the water jet (4), the nozzle (3) being stationary or being moved synchronously with the collection opening (6). The distance between the collection opening (6) and the water jet (4) is not more than 10 mm, thereby protecting the edge of the web from damages. |
