This fuel supply system is provided with: a fuel pump for pressurizing fuel and feeding the same to a fuel injection device; a pressure accumulator being in communication with the fuel pump; piping through which the fuel injection device, the fuel pump, and the pressure accumulator are in communication with each other; a control device for determining the state of a vehicle and controlling the fuel pump on the basis of the determination result; and a pressure adjustment device which is provided in the fuel pump and releases pressure to cause the pressure in the piping to be a specified value or less. When the control device determines that the running state of the vehicle is an idling state or an idling stop state, the control device stops the fuel pump at the same time as the control device determines that the state of the vehicle is an idling state or an idling stop state, and when the control device determines that the running state of the vehicle is shifted from an idling state to a running state, the control device activates the fuel pump at the same time as the control device determines that the running state of the vehicle is shifted from an idling state to a running state. |
