The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for controlling phone ringing on a home gateway, and relates to the field of home network control. The method for controlling phone ringing on the home gateway includes: monitoring status of a first route of analog access port, and judging whether the first route of analog access port receives a ringing message; when the first route of analog access port receives the ringing message, enabling the phone connected with the first route of analog access port and the phone connected with a second route of analog access port to ring at intervals. By controlling the phones connected with the analog access ports on the home gateway to ring at intervals, the method avoids multiple phones ringing at the same time, saves energy consumption of a single board of a home gateway terminal and improves performance of the single board. |
