摘要 A method for driving a light-emitting element is provided with two steps: a first step of performing constant current drive; and a second step of increasing the absolute value of a voltage with time. It is assumed that a short circuit between a pair of electrodes occurs when a voltage which is applied to the light-emitting element is lower than or equal to the emission start voltage. A shift from the first step to the second step occurs when this condition is satisfied. Accordingly, a high current can be passed through a short-circuited portion between the pair of electrodes in the second step. The portion is insulated by heat (a short circuit between a pair of electrodes can be repaired), so that deterioration in the light-emitting element can be suppressed, and luminance of the light-emitting element can be recovered.
