<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media-agitation type pulverizer which reduces the attack of grinding media to a media-separation member without decreasing the function of the media-separation member, and minimizes the wear of the media-separation member as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: Media-agitation type pulverizer 10 includes a pulverization container 12 having an end plate covering the top and having an upright cylindrical pulverization chamber holding bead-like grinding media 26, a material slurry feed port 16 disposed in the pulverization container, an agitation member 22 located below the pulverization chamber and having a rotation shaft almost coaxial with the shaft center of the pulverization chamber, and a centrifugal media-separation member 32 installed above the agitation member. The media-separation member is arranged under the end plate. Its lower part is placed in a cylindrical media-separation member-holding chamber which is open toward the pulverization chamber.
